About Communicare

Communicare Inc. is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation which helps more than a quarter of a million Australians every year. Supported by a staff of over 280 and a strong base of volunteers, Communicare's philosophy is one of local people helping local people.

Since 1977 the organisation has grown rapidly establishing a reputation for innovation, leadership and professional excellence within our five service arms;

 

Children's Services

Since 1978, Communicare has been providing safe, stimulating and affordable Child Care options for children aged from 0-15 years old and support services for youth up to 18 years of age. Communicare provides services to over 500 children per day across 8 metropolitan sites and in over 70 Family Day Care homes. Communicare's Children's Services are delivered through the following program areas:

 

Family Services

Communicare's Family Services are designed to build happy, healthy communities by supporting individuals and families in need and encouraging them to grow.

Over 4,000 families are assisted in any one year. A team of multicultural staff and a number of volunteers provide the following services:

    4. Christmas Appeal

    1. Settlement Grants Program
    2. Lifeskills Classes
    3. Humanitarian Settlement Services

Education and Training Services

Communicare Education and Training provides both accredited and non-accredited training. Programs are provided for youth and adults, for people entering the workforce, changing career paths or just looking to up skill in their chose profession. Communicare is a Registered Training Organisation and offers the following services/programs:

  1. Training courses - ranging from 1 day to 20 weeks
  2. Workplace and School Based Traineeships
  3. Professional Development Training

 

Accommodation, Therapeutic Services and Domestic Violence Support

Communicare's Accommodation and Therapeutic Services (ATS) work towards educating and supporting individuals, families and groups, around issues of crisis within relationships and/or circumstance. ATS is divided into three section; Accommodation programs, Therapeutic Services and Domestic Violence Support. Services include:

    2. Partnerships for Family Safety
    3. Families without Fear
    4. Breathing Space DV Outreach
    5. Indigenous Family Violence Program (Greenough Regional Prison)
    6. Indigenous Family Violence Program - Community

 

Employment Services

Communicare has been involved in the provision of employment services since 1991. Communicare provides services across five metropolitan sites in Western Australia and two in New South Wales, maintaining a high level of service delivery and an ongoing contract with the Department for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Clients are referred from Centrelink for the following services; job matching, stream services, work experience and career profiling.

Communicare delivers Employment Services across 7 sites nationally;
