Would you like to be more involved with your community, demonstrate your abilities and talent and communicate your ideas through volunteering?

Volunteering is a great way to build on your work and life skills – it will broaden your horizons and give you a taste of the ‘real world’, and it looks great on your CV.

Communicare is looking for volunteers to work in its Settlement Grants Program which assists newly arrived refugee groups to settle comfortably into Australian culture. The program currently requires assistance with its English Teaching class to assist migrants who have a basic to moderate grasp of the English language. The English classes are held every Wednesday 9.30am to 12.00pm and every Saturday 9:30am to 11.30am at Communicare's Head Office in Cannington. Volunteers may wish to assist with both classes or may choose to assist with one class per week.

Communicare is also seeking volunteers to work in its Youth Transition to Education and Employment Service (COYOTEES) commencing next year. COYOTEES is an education and mentor service for ‘at-risk’ youths aged between 14 and 19 years. COYOTEES, based in Kenwick, requires volunteers to work Monday to Thursday from 9.00am to 2.00pm.Volunteers can choose what days and times they would like to volunteer. Volunteers are expected to assist the teachers and social workers with a variety of tasks.
