Connected Communities provides free individual parenting support to improve the health and wellbeing of parents, carers and their children, by providing them with information and strategies around common parenting challenges.
The service is focussed on building and strengthening parent-child relationships, and linking families to relevant support in their local communities.
Connected communities also provides parenting courses and workshops to support parents and carers gain an improved understanding of their children's developmental needs and behaviours.
What are the benefits of Connected Communities?
Parents and carers who participate in this program will benefit from it by:
- Expanding their knowledge and skills in being able to meet their children’s social, emotional and developmental needs;
- Increasing their confidence to help their children with early learning, and supporting school transition and engagement; and
- Growing their ability to find and maintain connections with other families and services.
Who can access the Connected Communities program?
Connected Communities is available for anyone parenting a child up to 12 years of age and living in the following suburbs:
- Alexander Heights
- Balga
- Girrawheen
- Koondoola
- Marangaroo
- Mirrabooka
- Nollamara
- Westminster
