Active Schools Program

Increasing awareness of the value of sport.

The Get Active Project

Active Schools Program

Promoting an active, healthy lifestyle for secondary school age students.

Our Active Schools Program aims to target low participation in sport and active recreation amongst culturally and linguistically diverse secondary school aged students.

We work collaboratively with a number of identified target schools to promote the benefits of living a healthy and active lifestyle and assistance to join local clubs and associations.

We engage with identified schools in activities such as:

  • Sports clinics facilitated by State sporting associations and local clubs;
  • Cost-effective swimming lessons tailored to cultural customs;
  • An annual multi-sport inter-school carnival to assimilate students from diverse backgrounds;
  • Opportunities to get involved with community events and develops leadership skills through the Youth Connect Leadership Program.

Who is the Active Schools Program for?

To be eligible for the Active Schools Program; students will have to attend one of the identified target schools which work collaboratively with our program.
