May 20th to 26th was National Volunteer Week, an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of volunteers in our community.

Established in 1989, National Volunteer Week was the first collaborative attempt to promote volunteering nationally and is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia.

It gives organisations like Communicare the opportunity to recognise the role of volunteers in our everyday work and to say thank you.

Volunteers at Communicare perform a range of different roles from mentoring and tutoring, to providing administration support and operating our crèche.

We thank Volunteering WA for kindly donating a $1,000 grant to help us give back to our hard working volunteers.

This year we invited all our volunteers to celebrate their hard work at Holey Moley Golf Club in Northbridge and it was a fantastic way to spend some enjoyable time together.
