In December the Communicare Training Institute (CTI), as only one of two WA based providers, was approved to deliver competency-based supervisor training and masterclass refresher workshops until December 2023.

Communicare has been approved to deliver workshops across Perth metropolitan area and regional areas including Broome, Bunbury and Geraldton.

This announcement aligns with our Strategic Plan 2018 – 2021 to support growth via revenue stream diversification. Over the next five years, CTI Manager, Dave Harris and his team will continue to deliver supervisor training to psychologists across WA growing our fee for service programs.

The courses CTI deliver are for psychologists who require competency-based supervisor training. For psychologists wanting to become an approved Psychology Board of Australia supervisor or existing approved supervisors who are required to refresh their training every five years by completing at least one masterclass refresher workshop.

As a Board-approved provider, Communicare has delivered a total of 34 supervisor training workshops to more than 380 participants over the past five years.

In August of this year, the Psychology Board of Australia invited expressions of interest from organisations, groups and individuals across Australia to act as a Board-approved provider of supervisor training for the next five-year period. Board approval has now been granted to 16 providers to deliver supervisor training across Australia.

Special recognition must go to Terese Schuts who, as a contracted facilitator, has been delivering high quality supervisor training for Communicare over the past five years, also for the immense amount of work she provided for this submission. Her expertise and dedication was a driving force in helping us to achieve this fantastic outcome.
