Our Individual and Family Support team introduced four new community workshops this term.

Designed to encourage community members to join in, learn, share their skills and cultural knowledge our workshops are free and faciliated by experienced Communicare staff and volunteers.

To keep community activities fresh and relevant each term, the Individual and Family Support team consult workshop participants for new ideas.

The new workshops for term one, include:

  • Popcorn Group where a different activity is presented by members of the community, each week.
  • Family Rhyme Time where parents and children are encouraged to interact together in a positive and engaging environment
  • Happy Feet Walking Group where staff and participants take different routes around the local area
  • Pins and Needles where participants can engage in a range of sewing techniques in a safe and social environment.

The workshops have proven popular with clients with the Popcorn Group in week two learning Bollywood Dancing by dance teacher, Aabha.
