On Thursday, 20 June 2019 Melissa Perry and representatives from government, community sector and local community members, attended the official opening of our Rockingham Services Hub.
Settle In, Family Support Network and Connect and Respect Programs are now co-located in one site, making it easier for clients to access a broad range of Communicare and partner services.
The official opening coincided with National Refugee Day 2019 and began with an energetic drumming performance by Akwaaba followed by an engaging Welcome to Country by Charne Hayden from the Doorum Aboriginal Corporation.
Attendees, including the Mayor of Rockingham, Barry Sammels and CEO, Yorgum Aboriginal Corporation, Laurel Sellers heard from Communicare CEO, Melissa Perry on the importance of co locating services as well as an overview of each program, including a heart-felt testimonial from a Family Support Network client.
We will continue to work in partnership with the Rockingham community to improve community inclusion and safety as part of our commitment to growing our footprint across the South and South West.
