The WA Department of Justice has chosen Communicare to deliver an innovative program that works with people who have been served Family Violence Restraining Orders (FVRO).

The new service, known as Respecting Boundaries, recognises the complexity of family domestic violence and abuse (FDVA) and the role of FVROs play in protecting applicants from potential further violence.

Working with people who are respondents to FVROs, the service will deliver individual and group-based interventions, supported by trauma-informed, culturally safe and secure practices.

The program will provide participants with the foundational tools to build behavioural management strategies and increase awareness of FDVA as well as how their use of violence impacts others.

Communicare's history in the FDVA sector includes more than 20 years' advocating for women and children experiencing domestic violence and delivering innovative men's behaviour change programs.

As a leader in the FDVA sector and custodian of the White Ribbon Australia movement, Communicare continues to engage communities through local and national FDVA awareness and education campaigns and public policy advocacy initiatives.

Engaging and responding to perpetrators through the Respecting Boundaries program will maximise the safety and wellbeing of victims and survivors of FDVA in our community.
