The Inclusion Support team adapted their service delivery to Early Childhood Education and Care services to ensure services remained supported through the COVID-19 restrictions.

The Early Childhood sector has faced challenging times, but the creative team of Inclusion Professionals have embraced technology and used Zoom and Teams videoconferencing to stay connected with childcare centres.

In a month-period alone the team undertook an incredible 148 video conference meetings and nearly 1000 phone meetings with many of the 1200 Early Childhood Education and Care services across WA.

Virtual group sessions led by Gail Green, Trauma Informed Practice Partner helped Inclusion Professionals respond to educators dealing with anxiety and stress and challenging behaviours from children in response to the impacts of COVID -19.

This dedication to service, collaboration with Gail and willingness to adapt means that children with additional needs have had greater opportunities to be successfully included in Early Childhood Education and Care services. Well done to the team on this positive outcome.
