Earlier this month, Innovation advisor Stacey Avery and Human Resource (HR) manager Tracy Watts visited the Kaartdijin Innovation Centre at the Fiona Stanley Hospital to meet with its Executive Director of Transformation, Jemma Greene.
The purpose of this trip was to learn more about the unique ways the metropolitan health service connects with their patients and stakeholders, and cross-share ideas in building innovation programs and a positive corporate culture.
Having worked in innovation for many years, Jemma drew on her extensive background to reflect on past ways of working and the expected trends for 2021 and the future. This emphasised networking with external stakeholders and co-designed base strategies.
"Lifting others within our Western Australian ecosystem to deliver on innovative thinking is an important part of our role as a government led Innovation Team", Jemma said.
"We appreciate exchanging knowledge with others working in the same space, and I'm excited to witness how Communicare continues to build on their innovation journey."
A key takeaway from the trip focussed on building business capabilities within organisations, by empowering teams to make suggestions on how to best achieve their desired outcomes.
As Communicare works on reshaping its innovation program, building on networking opportunities like this enables us to create change that adds value to the way we operate and provide service delivery.
