Communicare's inaugural Kambarang Jobs Fair was a hit with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander jobseekers in October, with over 700 jobseekers registering to attend and 450 attending on the day.

On 31 October, Communicare and five other Perth based Jobactive organisations worked together to host over 30 different local employers at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre. The Jobs Fair was open to anyone from the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community looking for a job or considering the next step in their career.

With big names such as Crown, Thiess, Spotless, FMG, Sodexo, Monadelphous, WesTrac and the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, this event was an effective way for job seekers to find out about the many opportunities available and engage with potential employers.

Working to help close the gap on Aboriginal employment, Communicare was pleased to see over 100 of our Jobactive jobseekers in attendance for this free one-day event.

Well done to Manager, Employment Services Renae Wade and her team for bringing this massive event together.
