Communicare are delighted to announce that they have secured the future of Western Australian community initiative, Santa’s Workshop.

Communicare Chief Executive Officer, Melissa Perry said "Communicare can provide Santa’s Workshop with access to a network of diverse community programs and a new premises in Malaga. The decision to acquire Santa’s Workshop provides great synergies with our volunteering program, recycling and sustainability, and building positive multigenerational connections across our services and the community." said Ms Perry.

Santa's Workshop has been supporting families in Western Australia for over 20 years, through provision of toys to local community organisations, vulnerable families and those in need. It is a volunteer run organisation and was supported by another community service provider for 14 years until November 2018, when the relationship ended due to funding cuts. The volunteers had to vacate from their facilities and have been searching for a replacement home since last Christmas.

Santa’s Workshop volunteers are now settling into their new home at Communicare Malaga and keen to get back to helping others. In previous years, Santa’s Workshop has provided up to 2,500 children with gifts throughout the year and at Christmas.

Our team of elves need to fill their new workshop with everything from tools and machinery, to wood, nails, glue and sewing thread so they can begin creating toys again.

Your donations will make sure our Santa’s Workshop can get up and running and create strong community connections and social inclusion.
