Communicare staff attended an insightful presentation by Volunteering WA's, Lorena Castelo to learn the benefits and opportunities available to clients and volunteers.

Lorena explained Volunteering WA represents over 600,000 volunteers in WA and their vision is for everyone, at some stage in their life, to enjoy a valued volunteering experience.

They can match volunteers to suitable work across not for profit, corporate and Government organisations through their online database (VIKTOR). Lorena also explained the rights and responsibilities of volunteers and the organisations they support.

Staff were interested to learn that Volunteering WA can help volunteers obtain a Police Clearance at a reduced cost and a police record does not automatically preclude people from becoming a volunteer.

Communicare has a strong working relationship with Volunteering WA with over 80 volunteers supporting our diverse community programs.
