Communicare Breathing Space, Maylands will open its doors in July 2019.

CEO, Melissa Perry explained, "this funding announcement enables Communicare to extend our specialist intervention services to more men who have been abusive in their intimate partner and family relationships".

"We look forward to expanding our service offering to increase the safety of all women and children and creating a safe and inclusive community for all", said Melissa.

Communicare Breathing Space - Calista has been operational since 2004 and was created as an alternative to removing women and children from their family homes and communities.

The service delivers an intensive therapeutic program involving men in effecting change, increasing their accountability and responsibility through the use of behaviour change programs to create safe and respectful relationships with partners and children.
