ParentsNext is a pre-employment program for parents with young children.

The program works with individuals to identify their education and career goals creating a pathway to achieve them. ParentsNext consultants also work with parents and carers to help build confidence, develop skills and access local support and services to plan for the future.

Parents and carers are not required to start looking for a job while in the program. Taking part in ParentsNext places individuals in a better position to act on opportunities when the time is right.

The benefits of ParentsNext include:

  • Connecting individuals with other parents and services in their community
  • Help to find and access financial support
  • Support to balance parenting responsibilities and work preparation
  • Finding a course or work experience
  • Writing a resume and job interview practice.

ParentsNext can help provide funding for a range of services individuals require to help reach their goals. This includes financial support for driving lessons or tests, work tickets or checks, education courses, fuel vouchers, clothing for work or interviews, and more.

The ParentsNext program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Jobs and Small Business.

I have had an amazing amount of support from the team who have always encouraged me to pursue my hopes, dreams and goals. I have had a lot of growth through my time with parents next. When I first started parents next I was in uni part time without payed employment and since my time with parents next I am now a full time uni student with casual employment. Loving the balance of being a mother, Uni student and employee.
