How MEND Supports its Participants

The MEND Program offers weekly sessions designed to support participants in understanding the dynamics of Family and Domestic Violence (FDV). The program equips individuals with essential tools and strategies to build and maintain respectful relationships, reduce the risk of further violence, and promote safety within families and communities.

Throughout the 12-week program, participants will engage in modules that address key aspects of behaviour change, including understanding the types and cycles of violence, taking responsibility, managing emotions, and developing effective communication skills. The program also focuses on critical areas such as conflict resolution, healthy relationships, parenting choices, and safety planning to ensure comprehensive support and education for participants.

For Aboriginal men, a broader cultural approach will be implemented, including connecting men to culture, with a primary focus on enhancing family safety and family function.
