I have previously attended the circle of security parenting course, however having it related to parenting a neurodiverse child has changed my perspective on our family life. Amy’s guidance was wonderful, and I felt understood by sharing experiences with families that experience similar situations in their home, school and community life. I gained wise and practical advice that I can apply to work with my child that has a lifelong hidden disability called Developmental Language Disorder, as we navigate a world that is often geared toward favouring a neurotypical person.

It was a great opportunity to meet people, listen and share perspectives on what it’s like to be a parent of a neurodiverse child. It helps you realise that you are not alone in your parenting challenges, and invites you to trust the world that the child has a lived experience in, especially in societal aspects that you cannot control, such as the education system.

It helps you understand what triggers you, so that you can increase your awareness and choose to make a positive change to your parenting.

Amy was a wonderful facilitator. She gave her unique lived perspectives at how to adapt the circle of security parenting course to school aged children who have neurodiverse needs.
