What a wonderful day we shared at Burswood on Swan for our Together Through Change conference. With the serene Derbal Yerrigan flowing beside us, we came together in a space that felt calm, connected, and inspiring. It was the perfect setting to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate everything that makes Communicare shine.
Our Chair, Jim McGinty, reminded us this is a pivotal moment of change – with new leadership, new energy, and a renewed focus on our future. Under Merinda’s guidance, and with the support of our Board, we are embracing change with purpose and optimism.
Together, we looked ahead to our 3-year plan, designed to help us deliver on our strategic priorities and strengthen the impact we make in communities. We met new members of our Executive Leadership Team, bringing fresh perspectives and a commitment to accessible, visible leadership.
We also explored the power of storytelling – how sharing stories not only honours those we serve, but inspires others to share in turn, creating a full circle of connection and understanding. The most powerful moments came from the voices of the people we support, whose stories reminded us why we exist and the impact we can make.
Of course, the day was also full of joy and laughter. From Indigenous dance and the traditional smoking ceremony to a moving poem shared by one of the team it was a true celebration of our values and our people.
Together Day was more than an event – it was a reminder of our purpose, our people, and the future we are building together.
